Sterilizing Instructions

IMPORTANT   

Non Sterile – Must be Sterilized Prior to Use

      Due to the delicate nature of this instrument, please be sure to follow the cleaning instructions carefully in order to preserve the quality and life of the instrument.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SYNERGETICS INSTRUMENTS
                                                   
      These instruments have a precision working mechanism. Fluids will enter this mechanism during the surgical procedure. If these fluids are not promptly cleaned out, it will lead to corrosion and the possibility of instrument malfunction. Proteins may also accumulate inside of the mechanism.
THESE INSTRUMENTS MUST BE THOROUGHLY CLEANED FOLLOWING EACH USE.
 



Instructions for Cleaning:
  • Unscrew the tip from the handle. Discard disposable tips. For reusable tip, follow cleaning instructions
    included with tip.
  • Ultrasonically clean the handle.
  • Soak handle in distilled or deionized water for two minutes.
  • Dry with surgical sponge.

 



Recommended method of sterilization:
Ethylene Oxide Gas


       This instrument has been cleaned and inspected at our factory. It is the users responsibility to inspect it prior to use for damage which may have occurred during shipping. This reusable instrument may be sterilized in a pre-vacuum steam autoclave for 10 minutes at 270°F (132°C) or ETO gas in accordance with standards set by EN550 and/or ANSI/AAMI/ISO11135. Autoclaving or the Sterad process will compromise instrument life. WARNING: This device is not recommended for use in procedures involving Kenalog/Triamcinolone. This device restricted to use by or on the order of a physician.
